Privacy Policy

This website, wesbarker.ca, is operated by Stunt Magician Inc. ("we", "us", "our"), the company behind the live shows and corporate performances of comedy magician Wes Barker. We are based in Langley, British Columbia, Canada.

This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and our booking process, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

1. Who is responsible

Stunt Magician Inc. is responsible for the personal information under its control and has designated a Privacy Officer who is accountable for our compliance with this policy. You can reach the Privacy Officer at wes@stuntmagician.com.

2. What we collect

When you ask about booking Wes

When you fill in a booking or inquiry form, we collect what you give us: your name, email address, phone number, company or organization, the type of event, event date, city, expected audience size, budget range and any message you write. We also record the page you came from and campaign information attached to your visit (for example UTM tags and ad click identifiers such as Google's "gclid" or Meta's "fbclid").

Quotes and performance agreements

When we prepare a quote or agreement, we collect the details needed to perform and invoice: the contracting organization, billing contact, event details, and the names and titles of signatories. When an agreement is signed electronically, we record the signatures and initials together with the date and time, IP address and browser information of the signer, as evidence of who signed and when.

Tickets

Tickets for public shows are sold by third-party ticketing platforms under their own terms and privacy policies. We never collect payment card information on this website. When you return to our site after buying tickets, we may receive your order reference, order amount and email address so we can measure which of our ads led to a sale.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we receive technical information when you visit: browser and device type, pages viewed, the site that referred you, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. When you submit an inquiry, we store your browser's user agent and a one-way hashed (non-reversible) version of your IP address to help detect spam and abuse.

3. How we use it

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

4. Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

When you submit an inquiry or complete a purchase, we may share with Google, Meta and LinkedIn a hashed (one-way encrypted) version of your email address, the ad click identifier from your visit, and your IP address and browser information, so these platforms can match the result to the ad you saw. If an inquiry later becomes a confirmed booking, we may report that outcome to Google Ads using the click identifier. These platforms process this information under their own privacy policies.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal information only as needed for the purposes above:

Our service providers may only use your information to provide their services to us.

6. Where your information is stored

Your information may be stored and processed in Canada, the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Information stored outside Canada is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts and authorities.

7. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Agreements, invoices and related records are kept for as long as Canadian tax and accounting rules require (generally at least six years). When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

8. How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards for the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), password-protected administration tools limited to authorized people, and hashing of IP addresses collected with inquiries. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to address any incident promptly.

9. Your rights

You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to its use (subject to legal or contractual restrictions, for example an agreement already signed). To make a request, write to wes@stuntmagician.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia. Residents of Quebec may contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

10. Children

This website is intended for adults planning events or buying tickets. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Other websites

This site links to ticketing platforms, social networks and other websites that we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed.
